Moûtiers is known as the gateway to the 3 Valleys ski resorts, and also has links to Paradiski and Valmorel. It is an attractive and interesting town that has many historical and cultural features, with the River Isère flowing through its centre.
The town benefits from a pleasant climate and features snow in the winter and glorious sunshine in the summer. There are many leisure activities to enjoy, apart from the alpine sports in the winter, including swimming (outdoor and indoor), mini golf, rafting and other white water sports. There are hot springs in the nearby spa town to be enjoyed too, and there are numerous festivals held in and around town throughout the year.

The town is just over one hour and a half from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble airports. Chambéry is under an hour away. Access is very easy by road — the town lies on the RN90. The TGV comes right into town and is a ski special destination linked directly to Eurostar from England.
